The maternity allowance shall be paid for the whole period of maternity leave to a woman who:
• being a worker or self-employed at the beginning of maternity leave;
• has been removed from employment or has lost self-employed status, not earlier than 60 days prior to maternity leave;
• has been released from work due to the liquidation of an undertaking not earlier than 210 days prior to maternity leave.

The first part of the allowance shall be paid for 56 or 70 days of maternity leave if the future mother has entered the medical records by 12 weeks of pregnancy. The second part of the allowance for the 56 or 70 calendar days of maternity leave shall be paid after the birth of the child.
