Brief description:
The registration certificate shall be a document attesting that:
- a medical practitioner has the right to pursue medical treatment for a period of 5 years from the time of registration or renewal;
- a medical treatment aid person in the relevant profession has the right to participate in the provision of the health care process in the medical treatment institution for a period of 5 years from the time of registration or renewal.
The Health Inspectorate shall issue a registration certificate after receipt of a written request from a medical practitioner or a medical treatment support person within five working days.
The issuance of a duplicate registration certificate or certificate shall be a fee service, as the costs have been specified in the Cabinet Regulations entitled “Price List of Health Inspection Fee Services”.

A completed application for the issuing of a certificate may be submitted:
- by post;
- using e-service in the www.latvija.lv portal;
- electronically by sending an application signed with a secure electronic signature to vi@vi.gov.lv;
- in the presence of a valid identity document.

When submitting an application in person, payment of the service may be made immediately in the form of non-cash settlement. If the payment is not made in person, and when submitting the application in electronic format or by post, an invoice for payment shall be sent to the applicant to the e-mail address indicated in the application.
