Brief description:
The State technical inspection shall be carried out on the tractor-type or its trailer in order to control the technical condition of the tractor-type equipment or its trailer owned or held by a natural or legal person and compliance with the requirements for road safety and environmental protection. In the event of compliance with the specified requirements, a decision shall be taken on the use of the relevant tractor-type or its trailer in the manufacturing process and on road traffic for a period of 12 months. In the case of non-conformities identified, natural or legal persons shall be given 30 days to correct non-conformities and shall have the possibility of re-testing. For new propulsion machinery (up to 250 engine hours), the national technical inspection shall not be carried out, on the basis of documents annexed by the manufacturer, the authority shall take a decision on the use of the relevant tractor equipment or its trailer in the manufacturing process and on road traffic for a period of 24 months. As a result of a national roadworthiness test, a roadworthiness report is issued to a natural or legal person, a voucher regarding the conformity of the technical condition of the trailer with the specified requirements is issued, a sticker regarding technical conformity is pasted in the window, a permit to participate in road traffic is granted.

When requesting a service, preferably in advance, the customer must arrive at the inspection site specified by the authority, i.e. at the nearest VTUA office, in the survey schedule, or by calling THE VTUA inspector to the location of the tractor equipment.
At the time of inspection, the tractor-train or its trailer must have a valid owner's statutory civil liability insurance (OCTA) policy. Prior to performing a roadworthiness test, the owner (driver) of the tractor-train or its trailer shall present to the inspector a registration certificate for the tractor-type equipment or its trailer, a valid tractor-type driving licence, and shall pay for the roadworthiness test.
Pay types:
1. prepayment (invoice) (bank, internet banking, Latvian mail);
2. on-site settlement of non-cash with a payment card (POS) (cheque or invoice).
The final price of the service shall include the type of services regarding the settlement provision for the performance of the State functions only where the customer pays the services indicated in the invoice or check using the settlement card. On the other hand, according to the invoiced invoice, when the customer is settled in the bank, online bank or Latvian mail, payment for the settlement security is not applied.
