Disability is a long-term or permanent limitation of functioning which affects the mental or physical capacity, capacity, self-care and integration of a person. A person may submit and review disability-related documentation in a convenient way to the authorities, provided that the computer and the information required for identification are available.
On the other hand, a predictable disability is a restriction on the functioning of a disease or injury which, if the necessary medical and rehabilitation services are not provided, may be a reason for determining the disability.
Latvia in regulatory enactments three disability groups are listed: Group I (very severe disability), Group II (severe disability) and Group III (moderate disability).
