The following categories of passengers may benefit from fares:

• persons with Group I and Group II disabilities;
• persons under 18 years of age with disabilities;
• children orphaned and children left without parental care who are in foster families, guardianship, childcare institutions or training in general and vocational education institutions, as well as in universities and colleges up to the age of 24;
• politically repressed persons and members of the national resistance movement;
• persons from multi-child families and families in the care of which there is a child with a disability or an adult who has not reached the age of 24, if it has been determined by an I or II disability group, which uses the certificate granted in the framework of the Latvian Honor Family Certificate Programme implemented in the State;
• persons from multi-child families and families who have a child with disabilities or an adult who has not reached the age of 24, provided that they have a disability group of I or II attending general basic education and secondary education institutions.

The following allowance may be granted on all regional routes:

In addition to the mentioned categories of persons, local governments may also, within the scope of their budget, identify other categories of persons for whom they provide fares. The use of these facilities uses the electronic identification means specified by the local government or the travel recording mechanism. The categories of persons and the amount of discounts may be identified by interest in the local government concerned.

*For the procedure for awarding fare concessions on important city routes, follow up on the websites of the respective municipalities or carriers.

In order to benefit from the fares, it is necessary to activate a special user on the eID card, certifying that you are in line with one of the categories of passengers entitled to benefit from the relief.

1. To activate an app, you need:

• eID card only for eID cards issued from 2 September 2019 to 27 December 2021 *;
• eParaksta and authentication certificates are activated;
• known code of the eID card PIN1.

2. You have to go to the UCSCSA, the RTSD or independently install the necessary supplement.

3. Purchase of a ticket in ticket sales caskets or transport, showing an eID card.

Important! AIF applets can only be installed on eID cards for children under 14 years of age in OCMA customer service centres.

To activate an application, you may be charged for receiving the service:

• independently - free of charge;
• the RTSD - EUR 2,18;
• the UCSCSA - free of charge.

* For eID cards made after the specified period, the AIF applet is activated in the personalization process, so no additional installation is required. Take into account that it will not be possible to use the fare concessions set by the state with an eID card issued before September 2, 2019, so it is necessary to get a new eID card.

To activate the app independently, you need:

• eID card issued from 2 September 2019 to 27 December 2021;
• the eID card may not have expired;
• have active esignal and authentication certificates*;
• PIN codes issued with the eID card; smart card reader** must be available.

**Smart Card reader is an electronic device designed to connect your computer to an eID (identity card contact chip, authentication, and electronic signature functions). You can find out more about the smart card reader here.

When purchasing a ticket at ticket stores, the destination of the journey (stop), the corresponding route and the time of departure will be selected.
Display only the eID card (activated by the cash register) and the cashier will issue the ticket with a discount or print it.

On certain routes for which tickets are sold using the Unified Public Transport Ticket System, it is currently not possible to purchase a ticket electronically (in applications/internet) with fare concessions. For these routes, a ticket with fare reduction must be purchased in the vehicle or at the ticket offices of bus stations and railway stations.
