With the development of the European single market and service environment, citizens and entrepreneurs may have questions about their opportunities, rights and obligations in a particular European Union (EU) Member State. For this purpose, we have collected information on national and EU-level assistance service providers, to whom clients can turn for information, consultations related to public administration services, health care system, recognition of foreign professional qualifications in Latvia, construction and product requirements.

 


Point Of Single Contact 

(VRAA)

 

Service type and purpose: single service contact point, provides support to users of the public administration services portal www.latvija.lv, consultations on the use of e-services.

 

Expected result: consultations on the use of the portal www.latvija.lv and execution of e-services.

 

Contact details of the service provider: consultation time - from Monday to Thursday at 8:30 - 16:30, Friday at 8:30 - 16:00*:

Terms related to the performance of the service and the average time required to receive the service: maximum response time 6 working days (may be longer depending on the complexity of the question or situation).


National Contact Point For Cross-border Healthcare 

(NVD)

Service type and purpose: contact point is an information center that provides information on the national health care system and the procedure for receiving cross-border health care service.

 

Expected result: information regarding the state health care system and the procedure for receipt of cross-border health care services.

National Assistance Centre For Professional Qualifications 

(AIC)

Service type and purpose: national contact point for the recognition of professional qualifications obtained abroad in regulated professions in Latvia.

 

Expected result: information regarding the recognition of professional qualifications for persons who have acquired professional qualifications abroad in those professions which are regulated in Latvia.

Product Contact Point For Construction 

(EM)

Service type and purpose: construction contact point where you can get information about construction products.

 

Expected result: information on national requirements for a specific construction product.

Terms related to the performance of the service and the average time required to receive the service: 15 days.


Product Contact Point 

(LIAA)

Service type and purpose: single product contact point provides information to economic operators on national rules and requirements for products that apply before goods are placed on the market.

 

Expected result: single product contact point can help answer the following questions:

 

  • product requirements in EU Member States;
  • information on the competent authorities in the EU Member States;
  • information on legal remedies and procedures in EU Member States, incl. SOLVIT;
  • information on the principle of mutual recognition and the application of Regulation 2019/515, etc.

Point Of Single Contact 

(VARAM)

 

Service type and purpose: single point of information and contact provides information and answers about the free flow of non-personal data in European Union (further – EU), coordinates requests for access to data within the EU.

 

Expected result: The national contact point performs the following tasks:

  • provides general information to users on:
    • non-personal data regulation;
    • competent institutions in Latvia and other EU Member states on Non-personal data regulation;
    • existing territorial restrictions of free flow of non-personal data in Latvia;
  • liaises with national contact points of other EU Member states and European Commission;
  • sends data access requests to the competent authorities of Latvia from other national contact points of EU Member states;
  • sends data access requests to other national contact points of EU Member states made by competent authorities in Latvia.
